A New Gemstone:
Restore Life to your Piece

When present, gemstones play an undeniable role in being the focal point of any piece of jewelry.

Over time, though, gemstones may become scratched, chipped, or faded, resulting in a lackluster appearance that detracts from the piece’s beauty. Even worse, in some scenarios, gemstones may become lost altogether.

At Kosmima, we offer world class, professional gemstone replacement services to revive your beloved keepsakes, so you can enjoy their beauty and allure once more.

Pano did such a lovely job on our wedding bands. They are exactly what we wanted and we plan to go back to him for other pieces in the future. Pano and Cathy are simply lovely people who are a pleasure to do business with.

Pano beautifully restored a ring passed down to me that has a lot of sentimental value. It may not be worth much money but it's worth a lot to me, and he did an amazing job restoring the prongs that had worn away. Kathy helped me to find a cross for an upcoming baptism, one that would suit a Greek Orthodox ceremony. Working with them was such a pleasure and I will be back whenever I need anything fine jewelry related!

Gemstone Replacement FAQ

When replacing gemstones, there are a few factors to consider and keep in mind. If you’re getting a new stone,  you’ll want to be mindful of the color of your gemstone– you want it to either match or complement the color of your piece’s metal.

Also worth considering is your daily lifestyle, and how often you expect to be wearing the piece. If you’re very active or hard on your jewelry, something like a pearl or emerald might not be a good fit–they’re very delicate, easily scratched, and can become easily damaged when exposed to the wrong chemicals or temperatures. Certain types of stones are even known to fade in the sunlight.

None of this is to sway you away from any particular stone however–our jewelers will walk you through the process, and help you make this important decision.

We understand that your jewelry is important to you–realizing your stone is missing or broken can be heart-stopping.

Matching gemstones, as simple as it seems, takes a keen eye for detail, and skill. For your replacement project, our jewelers will leverage their experience and expertise to carefully select a stone that’s as similar as possible to the original. Please note, however, that every gemstone is unique and has its own distinct characteristics

Nevertheless, you can be assured that our team can help you restore your piece to its original beauty with a stone that complements and enhances it.

We can source a wide range of precious stones, including but not limited to:

  • Natural Diamonds
  • Lab Grown Diamonds
  • Sapphires – All Colors
  • Rubies
  • Opals
  • Paraiba Tourmalines
  • Aquamarines
  • South Sea Pearls
  • Akoya Pearls
  • Alexandrites
  • Turquoise

Many people prefer to keep the original stone in their piece of jewelry due to sentimental or personal reasons.

If you have any old diamonds or sapphires that have been chipped or scratched, our team can recut and polish them so they can be reused once again.
